Women Artists: Beautifully Curated

Art collections often tell a story - not just about taste, but about curiosity, perspective and the stories we choose to live with through art. Increasingly, collectors are looking to broaden that story by including more works by women artists in their collections.

Our current exhibition ‘A Seat at the Table’ has been designed to encourage this conversation. Inspired in part by the National Gallery of Australia’s 'Know My Name' initiative, our exhibition spotlights and celebrates the works of both historical and contemporary women artists - including many who have been overlooked in major collections.

What makes collecting work by women so exciting is its sheer diversity. There’s no singular “female perspective” in art. Some artists explore identity and lived experience directly, while others focus on abstraction, landscape, humour, still life or pure experimentation. The joy for collectors lies in discovering artists whose works resonate personally - regardless of category or label.

For many collectors, building a collection is also about conversation. The works we hang in our homes become talking points, reflections of our interests and markers of the moment we’re living in. Choosing to support women artists can be part of that evolving dialogue: a thoughtful way of engaging with art history while continuing to collect works you genuinely love.

At its heart, collecting is about connection - to artists, ideas and stories that stay with us. Sometimes, all it takes is making room for a few more voices at the table.
