Kari Henriksen
Kari Henriksen is a Melbourne-based artist renowned for her luminous landscapes and seascapes. With a practice spanning more than thirty years, she has developed a distinctive visual language centred on the interplay of light, sky, and time. Her paintings function as poetic meditations on place, capturing the fleeting atmospheres of weather and the subtle transformations that shape our experience of the landscape.
Henriksen holds a Master of Fine Arts from Monash University and completed a PhD in 2016, researching the depiction of atmospheric phenomena in studio practice. Henriksen has been selected as a finalist in several major art prizes, and she has exhibited in both solo and group shows in Australia and internationally. Her paintings are currently held in public and private collections across Australia, and in several countries, including Japan, the United States, and Iceland.
