Evie Cahir is a contemporary Melbourne-based artist who is best known for her vibrant and atmospheric works on paper. Drawing inspiration from Fauvism, Cahir’s bold and emotive colour palette has become a central expressive force. Her enigmatic practice often explores how we experience space, both visually and physically.

In her 2024 work 'Colander', Cahir creates a vibrant composition of a colander sitting on a kitchen sink. In loose and gestural marks, and vividly contrasting colours, Cahir's work is infused with energetic movement - an everyday scene, immediately observed.

Cahir’s work has been exhibited at Ballarat Art Gallery, Castlemaine Art Museum, and Woollahra Gallery at Redleaf. She has been a finalist in several art prizes, including the Hazelhurst Works on Paper Art Prize in 2025. For collectors of contemporary works on paper, or those enamored with contemporary Australian artists, Cahir’s works are a compelling addition to any collection.
