Jasper Knight takes after pop masters of the past. Rather than starlets however, he pictures icons of industry – beams, machinery, buildings and lighthouses. Found on the city’s outskirts, these images trade in an unexpected dichotomy: urban detritus rendered in oozing, technicolour excess.

‘Three Windows’ is recognisably by Knight. He pictures a boat abstracted on blue ground, its three little windows at the side allow for the sailor to see the sea. Dripping with paint, this work is a maritime subject in an urban style.
