Hannah Caprice

Hannah Caprice is a Canadian-Australian artist based in Melbourne, whose printmaking practice explores themes of solace and belonging.

The core of her work is inspired by her Indo-Trinidanian and Slavic heritage, fueling an exploration of hybrid identity and intimacy. Caprice's practice delves into the nuanced experiences of outliers and feelings of alienation by interweaving subject matters in visually juxtaposing environments. This evokes a duality between fragmentation and unification, symbolizing an ode to 'self-acceptance'.

Caprice has been recognized as a finalist in several notable art prizes, including the National Capital Art Prize and the Geelong Gallery Acquisitive Print Award. They were also the recipient of the prestigious Honours Fine Art Travelling Award by RMIT. Caprice’s work is featured in the collections of the Gippsland Art Gallery, the Australian Print Workshop, and Baldessin Studio and Press.
